A secret Leonardo da Vinci never knew.

Ever catch what you say to yourself?

I have and it doesn't always sound pretty.

Here are a few of my top hits lately…

  • Why in the world do I even try?
  • I’m on my own.
  • What's wrong with me?
  • I’m such an idiot!
  • My life is one big interruption.
  • I feel so stuck.

It’s like being on a radio station that's always playing static, but in my own head. 🙉

If you’re feelin’ me, then I’ve got something that might just change the tune: Cymatics.

Okay, imagine this…

You sprinkle some sand on a metal plate, crank up a tune, and BOOM! that sand dances into stunning patterns like it’s auditioning for “Sand Art: The Musical.”

That’s Cymatics –the study of how soundwaves create physical patterns. It's the visibility of sound.

Making the unseen, seen.

Turns out, sound isn’t just something we hear, it literally shapes our reality. Those invisible frequencies that tickle your ears give off far more information than you realize.

It sounds wild, but stay with me.

Dr. Hans Jenny, the science-wizard who coined Cymatics, showed that sound frequencies don’t just make noise—they shape matter.

In one of his mind-blowing experiments, he placed a crystal oscillator (think of it as a fancy speaker) under a steel plate covered with sand. He hit play, and the sand responded through resonance to form clear, beautiful patterns.

Here’s the kicker! The more he played those coherent sound frequencies, the clearer and more defined those patterns became.

But, why should YOU care?

Because you, are like that vibrating plate, full of patterns shaped by your thoughts and emotions.

Or, the sound of your resonance!

Every time you think or feel something, it leaves a vibrating mark in your brain’s nerve cells. When something similar happens again, your brain goes, “Hey, I remember this!” and reinforces that pattern.

Over time, your thoughts and emotions form these sculpted, recognizable patterns—just like the sand patterns in Dr. Jenny’s experiments.

Perhaps you’ll be surprised to learn that the first person to leave a written record of this cymatic phenomenon was none other than Leonardo da Vinci. In the late 1400’s, after observing how the dust particles on his work table stirred to create shapes when he vibrated the table, he wrote:

“I say that when a table is struck along diverse lines, the dust on it concentrates in various shapes of hills and small mountains…”

Ah! And to think, you and I are made of dust.✨

Yet, here we are shaping our reality with the stirring emotions of loneliness or joyfulness.

Molding our existence by feeling furious or staying curious.

Crafting our world between pessimism or optimism.

Want to sprinkle some pixie on that dust of yours?

Here are a few things you can do to change the tune of your resonance…

  1. Mind your tone. Literally. The tone of your voice can influence how you feel and others feel around you. Want harmonious vibes? Speak accordingly. Next time you give your two cents (whether in your head or out loud), remember: You're not just making noise. You're creating patterns and carving out your reality.
  2. Take a sound bath. Sound therapy is a thing, and not just because it sounds super zen. Singing bowls, tuning forks—those are tools that can help you reshape your mind. Here's one of my Spotify playlists that feels like a spa day for my brain.
  3. Pick your playlist. Ever had a song lift you higher than your morning coffee or chill you out better than a Sunday nap? That’s sound frequencies doing their thing. Listen to tunes that get you grounded, energized, relaxed, focused or whatever you need in the moment…and master your audio environment.

Understanding Cymatics means you get to be the DJ of your own life. You already have the power, just turn up the volume on the right frequencies.

Simply resonating with soothing sounds,

Have you ever caught yourself saying… “I don’t have a choice.” There’s a specific kind of exhaustion baked into that sentence. Like life slid a contract across the table, signed your name, and now you’re stuck carrying out the terms and conditions nobody bothered to explain. Cue the internal toddler tantrum.😡 I hear it hiding inside the I have to’s of life all the time: “I have to keep the peace at family dinners.” “I have to stay in this job because I need the income.” “I have to take care...

I had the weirdest Discovery Call of my career this week. And considering I’ve spent nearly two decades helping humans unpack things like stress rashes before family gatherings, friendship breakups over sage green bridesmaid dresses, and one-letter text messages from emotionally unavailable men… this one made the highlight reel.😄 A woman booked one of my free 25-minute Discovery Calls after being referred by a longtime client. (Yes, the kind where we hop on Zoom, meet face-to-face, talk...

She appeared on Zoom clutching a mug of coffee like it was the only stable thing in the room. But her eyes? Exhausted. Like her nervous system had been pulling double shifts for years. “Every day when he walks in the door,” she said, “I brace a little… because I don’t know how the conversation is going to turn.” You can picture it. 👀 The click of the front door.Keys on the counter. She pauses mid-step into the kitchen, listening for how the cabinets close. Soft means safe. Loud means… proceed...
